Event Description:
Avoiding Sales " Taxageddon" in your Business

State and local governments are still short of revenue despite the modest economic outlook. During 2011, the 45 states with sales tax collected over $1.5 billion in audit assessments from businesses. Nationally, sales tax accounts for 45% of total state revenue and that percent increases each year as income tax receipts shrink.  The larger demand for sales tax revenue means the states are looking for ways to increase the taxpayer base and increase revenue by conducting more audits on multistate businesses.

Guest Speaker

Our guest speaker, Ned Lenhart, president of Interstate Tax Strategies P.C., will share tips on how to avoid underpaying or under collecting sales tax—before the auditor arrives! What should your business do now to minimize the intrusion and financial damage a sales tax audit could cause your business?  Refreshments will be made available.
